Seven Crates, Seven Countries, Seven Weeks…

It’s big & it’s clever!… Last month the WhiteCircle team were set a rather large challenge;

“Convert seven shipping containers, connect them together (over two levels) build a 2nd storey bar/cafe terrace, prepare and design them to be suitable for every conceivable AV experience (including a Chris Levine installation) and make them ‘tour-ready”

“Love it!” we thought, but then we were given the schedule – build at each location in two days & break in one. The words rapid-deployment are often used in our industry, but not in relation to anything this custom…

Conversations continued;
“Could you build a double-deck structure, make it water tight and fully install the massive customised interior – all 1760sq ft of it at each location on the tour in two days?”
“Yes”, we said… and thankfully two weeks ago in Oslo, the first destination of it’s seven country tour we were proved right!!

What this actually meant was that our most recent WhiteCrate commission is the largest touring Cargotecture structure to leave the UK to date…

The project began with Nissan looking to develop its FUTURE:TODAY brand roadshow, following this tour of Europe. Proud Robinson contracted Sevens7 to plan, build and deliver the live tour. It was us at WhiteCircle, using our WhiteCrate product who designed, engineered, produced & built the touring structure in order for the tour to go ahead.

The structure comprised 7 converted shipping containers; five 40ft hi-cubes and two 20ft hi-cubes, a spiral staircase, roof terrace, cafe and lots of interactive technology including responsive light displays designed by Chris Levine. The whole structure landed and was constructed in 2 days, exhibited for a week then packed up in one day onto 45-foot low ride trailers and three 40-foot trailers to move to the next city.
